Industrial equipment · Case study
Steering a source-to-pay rollout for an energy-equipment supplier.
Independent technology PMO aligned sourcing, contract controls and SAP integration in an equipment supplier’s international Ariba rollout.

Client context
The business context.
An energy-equipment supplier had inconsistent sourcing and purchasing processes. Buying outside agreed contracts and duplicated agreements weakened control over procurement across its international operations.
The rollout covered both sourcing and the downstream ordering and payment processes. Contract rules, approval workflows, spend data and SAP interfaces had to form a coherent operating process, supported by change enablement and service introduction.
The work
How the engagement was delivered.
Keep the sourcing and purchasing scope connected
Steered delivery across sourcing events, contract management, purchasing workflows and spend visibility. Connected negotiated contracts and policy requirements with how users would requisition, approve and receive purchases.
Coordinate rollout and service introduction
Managed dependencies between the Ariba deployment, SAP integration and business adoption. Brought application delivery, change enablement and the transition into service together within the program.
What changed
A common platform for sourcing and purchasing control.
The program deployed sourcing and purchasing capabilities with standardized contract processes, approval workflows and consolidated spend information. The platform supported purchases against negotiated terms and provided a broader basis for supplier sourcing. Cost and agility benefits remained objectives of using these capabilities.
