Coordinating procurement across a mixed ERP landscape.

Client context

The business context.

A food-and-beverage company had limited visibility of indirect spending across fragmented systems. Negotiated suppliers and prices were not used consistently, and purchase orders could be raised only after invoices arrived.

The program needed a shared purchasing model while working across different ERP systems and middleware. It also needed an operating team to handle routine transactions and smaller purchases after deployment.

The work

How the engagement was delivered.

  • Protect the common process across deployments

Steered the global core-model design and challenged unnecessary customization. Aligned purchasing controls with order, receipt and invoice matching so the intended financial discipline was reflected in delivery.

  • Manage ERP and operating-model dependencies

Coordinated the Ariba integration scope across SAP, Oracle and middleware delivery. Connected deployment with the procurement operations function responsible for routine transactions and tail spend.

What changed

Completed deployments and a common view of indirect spending.

The program achieved its planned go-lives, introduced consistent purchasing controls and provided a shared view of indirect spend. A procurement operations team supported ongoing transactions, while reporting enabled continued monitoring of process compliance.
